JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title        :           Cath Lab Incharge
Reporting To:           Medical Superintendent
Job Summary:
Preparing the Cath Lab by setting up the equipment and sterilizing tools that are necessary for the operation. 
Qualification:            
Diploma holders
Duties:
  • The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech assists in the responsibility for patients having Cath lab procedures and cardiac device implantations performed in the cardiac Cath Lab.
  • These duties include circulating, physiologically monitoring patients during Cath lab procedures, and performing sterile scrub procedures for both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, vascular procedures, and other cardiac procedures. 
  • The position is also responsible for stocking and documenting supplies, inventory, patient billing, and coding of procedures. 
  • This position reports to the Clinical Coordinator and the CV Services Director. 
  • Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. 
  •  Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.  
  • Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

Working Condition:
Work in environments that are clean, cool and sterile environments.  It is crucial to respect these environments so that the safety and well being of the patient is not compromised. 
There may be times when a technician is exposed to disease, unpleasant sights, odors and smells.  It is important for technicians to practice safety measures to maintain their own health and they must also be able to stomach situations that may not always be pleasant.
During the course of a procedure, technicians have to stand for long periods of time. It may also be necessary to be alert throughout the procedure.
At times Cath lab technicians may be awake for long periods of time, so it is crucial to establish techniques that make it possible to handle this sort of working environment
