Reverse
Isolation Category
- The
purpose of reverse isolation category is to prevent infections in the
immuno compromised patients. The principle is to prevent contact between
pathogenic micro-organisms from HCWs or fomites and susceptible patients
who have severely impaired resistance.

that require reverse isolation are-
- Severe
neutropenia
- Leukaemia
and other malignancies
- Organ
and tissue transplant patients
- Patients on immunosuppressive therapy
- Burns and extensive wounds susceptible
