Patient Isolation

 Patient Isolation

Patients are isolated when

  • Suffering from highly transmissible diseases e.g. chicken pox. Pulmonary tuberculosis, cholera, and Swine flu. Patient is placed in a single room with hand washing and toilet facilities.
Infected with epidemiologically important micro-organisms such as MRSA, Imipenem resistant Acinetobacter spp. /Pseudomonas, ESBL positive Gram negative organisms, Vancomycin resistant Enterococci.
